Sydney: Australian companies McConnell Dowell and Built Environs have formed a joint venture to construct a $170 world-class shipbuilding facility in Adelaide by 2010. The yard will feature a 210m wharf and the country's largest ship-lift. Although the yard will focus on naval shipbuilding, the parent companies have expressed interest in tacking other projects including the construction of commercial shipping vessels. [31/08/07]
