Agility acquires South Chinese freight forwarder

Hong Kong: Logistics specialist Agility has acquired Guangzhou Runtong International Transportation Company Limited (GRITCL), which provides ocean freight forwarding services in Guangdong. The purchase boosts the number of Agility's China-based offices to 14, including the company's China headquarters located in Guangzhou - which will supervise operations.

Agility and GRITCL have worker together over the past six years and the company is an established business partner.
 
"It is important that we provide our customers with comprehensive services to meet their individual business needs throughout China," said Agility ceo for Asia Pacific Wolfgang Hollermann. "By integrating GRITCL into our global network, we have extended our reach into the region and enhanced our service offering. Going forward we plan to invest in the expansion of GRITCL and its range of services to include airfreight and logistics solutions for our customers in south China."
 
GRITCL principal David Li, who will become Agility's South China ocean freight gm, said: "We are very pleased to be joining Agility as our customers will be able to benefit from an expanded range of services and can leverage the strengths of our global network."  [14/05/07]
