Asian liftings boost Rickmers

Hamburg: Heavy-lift and project cargo specialist Rickmer-Linie reports a 40% increase in freight tonnes handled in 2005, much of it attributed to 'the booming trades in the Middle East and India.' The company has four, new-generation multi-purpose 24,000dwt vessels currently on order at Sadra shipyard in Iran - adding to its current fleet of nine similar, owned ships and seven chartered-in units - for deployment on the Middle East and India trades.  [21/07/06]
