Baosteel doubles Majishan port capacity

Shanghai: Baosteel, China's largest steelmaker, has completed a project to double the capacity of the Majishan Port near the estuary of the Yangtze River, China's vital waterway.
The undertaking, dubbed the second-phase project of the Majishan Port, China's first deep-water port built on an island in East China's Zhejiang Province, includes establishments of berths that can accommodate ships with 10,000 to 300,000 deadweight tons, and a 320,000 square meter ore ground built on land reclaimed from the sea, according to company sources.
