Beijing: According to data released by UK's Clarkson Research Studies, Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.'s new shipbuilding orders in-hand totaled 67 units or 9.7 million dwt as of the end of November 2007, upgrading the company from sixteenth position worldwide in the second quarter of the year to twelfth in the third quarter and finally to tenth position. The company attracted a lot of attention on the international shipbuilding market in 2007 thanks to its robust development. Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. took the fourth place globally with 127 ships or 18.34 million swt. Thus, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation has two shipbuilding subsidiaries included in the world's top-10. [11/01/08]
