Hong Kong-listed Brightoil confirmed the departure of its head of fuel oil trading Edmund Lau, adding that the impact to the company would be minimal as they have a new team of traders and are hiring more in Singapore, US and Geneva.
Brightoil has undergone a high turnover in key personnel during a time when it is seeking to aggressively expand to become a global energy conglomerate.
Other key personnel who left earlier include Quek Chin Thean, the chief executive of Brightoil's Singapore unit, Davy Choo, a senior fuel oil trader, and Paul Bradshaw, who was in charged of operations and logistics in Asia.
