The Hong Kong-listed company warned that based a preliminary assessment it had made a “significant loss” in the first quarter of its financial year. Brightoil said its two main drivers of its financial performance, international trading and bunkering and marine transportation had “faced an extremely challenging market environment where demand and margin were poor”.
The company said it would “strive to reduce operating costs and wait for opportunities when the shipping industry recovers”.
