Hong Kong: Amid a red hot market unconfirmed market reports suggest a capesize has been fixed on the Atlantic-Pacific cross trades for a fee in excess of $200,000 a day, setting new all time highs as the Baltic Dry Index hits consistent highs above 9,000 points. Spot charter rates for Pacific-round voyages are now regualry going for a whopping $150,000 a day. Seatrade's most recent issue predicted the $200,000 figure 'was only a matter of time'.
