Capt Wei to speak at National Press Club in Washington

Washington D.C. - Captain Wei Jiafu, CEO of the Chinese Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO), will deliver a major speech on global trade issues at a National Press Club Luncheon on Monday, October 26 - less than three weeks before President Obama's historic trip to China.   Long considered one of the world's most dynamic speakers, Capt. Wei will address commercial issues vital to U.S. and China at a time when a slumping world economy has made trade relations between the two nations the subject of headline news.   Capt. Wei, also president of the Chinese Association of Trade in Services, will be accompanied by a delegation of prominent Chinese service sector leaders from that organization. They will meet with U.S. officials and American business leaders during the visit.   In addition to his roles as head of COSCO and CATIS, Capt. Wei serves as an Advisor to both the Harvard Business School and the Panama Canal Authority.  [20/10/09]
