Cheoy Lee secures $35m four-tug order from Smit Lamnalco
Hong Kong: Cheoy Lee has received a $35m order from Smit Lamnalco for a series of four 32 m long Robert Allen-design RAstar 3200 class Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tugs.

The tugs will be deployed on initial 10-year charters to support Smit Lamnalco’s contract to assist the berthing and unberthing of LNG carriers at new export facilities being developed in Papua New Guinea by the Exxon Mobil-led consortium, Papua New Guinea LNG. The charters have options to extend to 25 years.

The tugs will be built at Cheoy Lee's Hin Lee Shipyard in the Pearl River Delta. Delivery of the first two  is scheduled for October and November 2013 with the remaining two following in January and February 2014.
