Berlin: The Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank) has for the first time linked with the world's largest shipping bank HSH Nordbank to jointly provide long-term loan finance for three 73,400dwt product tankers building at New Century Shipyard in China for German KG funds. Importance of the deal was signalled by the holding of the signing ceremony in the office of German Chancellor Angela Markel in the presence of visiting Chinese PM Wen Jiabao. HSH Nordbank says it thus becomes the first bank to have secured Chinese export finance for Germaan KGs and to have tied official provider China Exim Bank into the financing structure (with a 20% share of the total $86m).
