Shanghai: China has jailed the head of Rio Tinto's iron ore division for 10 years for bribery and stealing commercial secrets. Chinese - Australian executive Stern Hu was handed down a seven year jail term for bribery and five year term for stealing trade secrets by Shanghai Intermediate People's Court. According to reports Hu will serve 10 years in jail. Hu pleaded guilty to the bribery charge but disputed the amounts involved. Three other Rio Tinto executives involved in the case were handed jail sentences of seven to 14 years. The trial was held behind closed doors. [29/03/10]
