Shanghai: Hong Kong-based piped-gas distributor China Gas has revealed that it expects to receive its first LNG shipment from the Middle East in September. Although the exact details of the shipment were kept under wraps, the Oman Oil Company is likely to be the exporter, as it owns a 7.44% stake in a joint venture with China Gas.
Beijing awarded China Gas a gas operation license only last year, allowing the company to import/export natural gas and sell fuel products in the country. As development continues at a breakneck pace in the country, China's energy needs are expected to soar over the next three years. [25/07/07]
