China’s Shanghai port handles more containers in August
Shanghai port, the world’s busiest container port, has moved higher container throughput in August, according to figures released by Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).

The Chinese port handled 3.16m teu of shipping containers in August, an increase of 1.6% compared to 3.11m teu recorded in the same month of 2014, data from SIPG showed.

Last month’s volumes also went up compared to 3.12m teu posted in July this year.

In the first eight months of this year, Shanghai port registered a total container throughput of 24.3m teu, a rise of 3.7% compared to 23.44m teu seen in the previous corresponding period.
