China Shipping enters Japanese express market

Tokyo: China Shipping has formed a joint venture with Japan's Nippon Express (Nittsu) called CNJ Worldwide Logistics. Huang Xiaowen, director of China Shipping (Japan), stressed at the unveiling of the company last week that, "By partnering and fully manifesting our competitive superiority, we will be able to provide our customers with higher quality services." Shoji Yokobori, executive director of Nittsu, commented that, "By combining the strengths of China Shipping and Nittsu, we aim to tap new cargoes, such as those bound to the U.S. and Europe from the bases in China and Southeast Asia of Japanese affiliated manufacturers." The jv aims to move more than 10,000 teu of cargo.  [01/10/07]
