Chinese LPG fleet set to grow

Sanya: At the 14th China International LPG conference held last week in Hainan delegates learnt about the rapidly evolving, young gas fleet on the mainland. In the coming two years, the number of LPG vessels will increase by 40 percent and transportation capacity will increase by 70 percent.
Li Wanqin, from China Shipowners' Association, said 15 new LPG vessels were added last year to the Chinese merchant fleet giving a total of 110 vessels for LPG transportation in China, equivalent to 100,000 dwt.
During 2009-2010, China will get 47 new LPG vessels giving the country 170,000 dwt of LPG vessel capacity. [09/03/09]
