Beijing: Citing Qian Yongchang, head of the China Communication and Transportation Association has predicted that handling capacity of Chinaese ports is will by approximately eight billion tons and 170m teu in 2010, reports Xinhua news agency.
These figures indicate a continuation of the trend that has seen Chinese ports, including Shanghai, handle a combined cargo of 5.6bn tons and 93m teu in 2006, which was the highest amount handled by ports in any country. [24/05/07]
