Cho family feud ignites

Seoul: The Cho family continue to bicker between themselves over who owns what of the Hanjin empire, founded by the late Cho Joong-hoon. Sons of the founder of the Hanjin Group again filed suit against each other yesterday. Mr Cho's second son, Nam-ho, chairman of Hanjin Heavy Industries Co, and the fourth son, Jung-ho, chairman of Mertiz Securities Co, filed a petition with a Seoul court yesterday seeking a total of 6bn won ($6.2m) in damages from their older brother, Yang-ho, who is the chairman of Korean Air and the Hanjin Group, and Won Jong-seung, a senior official of the group. The dispute this time centres around duty free goods onboard Korean Air flights. Family feuding is the reason Hanjin Shipping never orders ships at Hanjin Heavy Industries.  [10.08.06]
