Seoul: The CKYH Alliance, comprising of COSCO, "K" Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping, has announced a plan to launch its sixth Far East - US east coast service in 2011. The exact schedule and port rotation of the new AWE-6 service have not yet been released.
Separately, Hanjin this week announced a rate restoration plan of up to $300 per teu for Asia-Europe trade for next year.
This plan will be applied to all shipments from Asia (Far East/South East & West) to Europe (North Europe, Mediterranean) and West Africa.
Hanjin said, "Despite our efforts to reduce costs, it is inevitable for us to restore rates in order to maintain quality service and schedule reliability that our customers expect from us. We will continue to seek all possible measures to meet our customers' needs." [10/12/10]
