CMA CGM to debut South America-Arabian Gulf service

Mumbai: CMA CGM has announced the launch of a new service linking South America, to the Arabian Gulf, the Red Sea, India and South Africa on February 13. The new VASCO Express weekly service will deploy eight 1,700teu vessels with a reefer capacity involving 350 reefers plugs in order to meet the growing market demand for refrigerated containers, between South America and the Middle East.
The service rotation will be as follows: Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Paranagua, Itajai, Rio-Grande, Salalah (for the Red Sea market), Khor-Fakkan, Nhava-Sheva, Port-Louis, Durban, Rio de Janeiro.

CMA CGM believes that the highly competitive transit times (such as 20 days between Rio-Grande and Khor-Fakkan) are an important feature of the new service. The first vessel, the M/V CMA CGM Rio-Grande, is scheduled to leave Brazil on the February 13.  [23/01/07]
