The new route adds to CMA’s existing Asia Northern Red Sea Express (REX2), addressing what a company statement called “growing demand” in the region. The service involves a vessel-sharing agreement with United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL).
CMA CGM said that its new service will benefit both importers and exporters in the Red Sea region by cutting transit times. The REX3 service will depart from Xiamen, and from there, call at Yantian, Shekou, Port Kelang, Djibouti, Jeddah, Port Sudan, Djibouti and Port Kelang, before returning to Xiamen.
