Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers tie-up with Dongbang to bid on large-scale projects

China’s Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea’s Dongbang Transport Logistics for bids on large-scale projects.

The two will establish strategic partner relationship to jointly work on the bids for large-scale projects. The agreement will be valid until 31 December 2022.

Earlier in 2016, Cosco Shipping and Dongbang cooperated on a module transportation and logistics contract in Kazakhstan. The contract was awarded by Cosco Shipping, and part of the contract was subcontracted to Dongbang as Cosco Shipping’s partners in South Korea.

With the two companies perform the voyages allocated for their vessels, both found out that this cooperation can bring a positive impact for future projects, as well as trust that was built while working together, said Dongbang.

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers, is dedicated to the operations and management of multi-purpose and heavy lift vessels, semi-submersible vessels, pure car carriers, logs carriers as well as asphalt carriers. The scale of its specialized shipping fleet ranks it as the largest in the world.

South Korea-based Dongbang operates its business through four divisions: harbor stevedore, freight truck transportation, marine transportation and other business including automobile maintenance, rental and oil distribution.
