Singapore: Cosco Shipyard has announced that it has secured a number of contracts from international shipowners for the construction of 29 bulk carriers. The contracts, worth a cumulative $1.3bn will see the company's Dalian and Guangzhou shipyards construct 17 vessels of 57,000dwt, eight vessels of 80,000dwt and four vessels of about 92,000dwt each. The ships will be delivered between October 2009 and December 2011. [24/10/07]
