Shanghai: Cosco Shipyards Group has won conversion contracts valued at US$106m for work on 13 unnamed ships, reports UK-based Ship Repair Newsletter. The work will be undertaken at the Group's shiprepair yards in Dalian, Nantong and Zhoushan, starting this month and running through to February 2007. The contracts include: conversion of a single hull VLCC into a double hull tanker, worth $20m; conversion of six ro-ro worth $38m; repair of a badly damaged containership, worth $13m; conversion of a containership worth $5m; and conversion of two crude oil tankers worth $10m.
