Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry (CSHI) and Wartsila have penned a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the production and growth of the exhaust has cleaning market in China.
The partners aim to create a ‘one-stop-shipping’ service for exhaust gas cleaning systems, offering customers seamless deliveries and installation for both newbuild and retrofit scrubber projects.
“The Cosco Heavy Industry Group intends to expand its manufacturing portfolio of marine equipment. The Wartsila technology in marine scrubber systems is world-class, and we look forward to a successful cooperation between our two companies,” said Zhao Zengshan, vice president of CSHI.
Finland's Wartsila said that with the development of production resources in China, it will help to ensure further development and support of Wartsila’s exhaust gas cleaning systems in the region.
Jan Othman, director of exhaust gas treatment at Wartsila Marine, said: “We look forward to together serving the exhaust gas cleaning systems market locally in China.”
