Seoul: DP World operated Pusan Newport Company (PNC) has signed a contract with Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV), which will see the Latin America-based shipping company migrate its Andex Service and Pacar service from Busan Old Port to PNC. The move, expected to take place in early August, will boost PNC througput by approximately 80,000teu per year.
"We are delighted that CSAV has decided to move most of their vessel services to PNC. It is a clear acknowledgement of the excellent service and level of productivity that we have been able to provide our customers," said Patrick Bol (pictured), executive md of DP World Korea / PNC.
Busan New Port expects to see an additional 1.8m capacity when the new Hanjin facility begins operations at the start of 2009, followed by 1.7m teu boost with the opening of Hyundai's new facility at the hub. [20/07/07]
