Taipei: Taiwanese company China Shipbuilding (CSBC) is to change its name to Taiwan International Shipbuilding. This is in line with the Taiwanese government's policy to remove 'China' from all state-run corporation names and official agencies/institutions in an effort to stress the country's independent sovereignty. Local media report that CSBC is scheduled to discuss its current articles of incorporation at its board of directors meeting scheduled for February 9. Other companies undergoing a similar name change include the Chinese Petroleum Corporation which will be renamed CPC, Taiwan. [07/02/07]
