Ulsan: Dockwise has ordered a $240m ultra large heavy lift vessel from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The Dutch shipowner has opted for HHI to build its new "Type 0" ship, which will have a capacity to carry more than 110,000 tonnes with a 275 by 70 m deckspace.
Dockwise said the vessel would be the first of its kind and was designed to meet the emerging market for ultra large transports. The vessel will cost $240m to design and build and is due for delivery in the last quarter of 2012. [07/02/11]
