Dubai: DP World has named Patrick Walters senior vice president and managing director for the Europe and North Africa region, responsible for all DP World's existing terminal businesses in the region and new development projects.
Walters has been with DP World and, previously P&O, for 12 years, and has held a variety of commercial and financial roles within the business. In March 2005 he was appointed managing director of Southampton Container Terminals and Tilbury Container Services and more recently has held the role of deputy regional director.
After more than six years as regional director, Roger Roels is stepping down from the role but will remain with DP World as a special advisor. He will remain on the Boards of DP World's joint-venture companies in France and Belgium, on the latter as chairman of the Antwerp Gateway terminal. He will also remain a member of the DP World Executive Committee and represent DP World's EU interests in Brussels. [14/06/07]
