DSIC bags order for semi-submersible barge
Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC) has won a contract to build one 22,700-dwt semi-submersible barge for Japan’s Fukada Salvage & Marine Works Co.

Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding will provide the technical specialities, equipment and project management for the newbuilding project, DSIC announced on its website.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The semi-submersible, classed by ClassNK, is capable of operating in water depth of 16.7 metres.

Fukada Salvage & Marine Works is involved in marine salvage, offshore engineering, offshore installation projects, and heavy cargo shipping. It owns a fleet of 40 ships comprising of heavylift vessels, salvage vessels, and semi-submersible barges.
