Seoul: Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering has won a $348m contract to build five suezmax tankers for Angola's national oil company. The South Korean shipbuilder is to build five 160,000 dwt tankers for Sonangal, or Sociedade Nacional de Combustiveis de Angola, at a cost of Won400bn. The ships are to be delivered from mid-2011 to 2013. "We thank Sonangol for making an order when the shipbuilding industry is going through difficult times," Nam Sang-tae, Daewoo's chief executive officer. [22/02/10]
