Seoul: Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering revealed that it has secured a $770m contract to construct five 318,000dwt oil tankers for Oman Shipping Company, reports Bloomberg. The double-hulled vessels, which will be delivered by April 2012, will each be capable of carrying two million barrels of oil the company said in a regulatory filing. DSME (pictured), which is the world's third largest shipbuilder according to order backlog, has received $1.27bn in orders so far this year. [13/02/08]
