Dubai: Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has acquired space on the Asia US Express (AUX) service - operated by Zim and Italia Marittima SpAÂ - and will begin offer between major ports in eastern China and those on the US East Coast this month. The new service provides one the few direct calls linking Qingdao and Shanghai with Florida, is the fastest direct link between Qingdao and the rail freight gateway of Savannah (Georgia) and calls at the ports of Kingston and Colon (Panama) used for transhipment to Central America and the Caribbean.
"The AUX service will provide our customers with the fastest direct links between two of the worlds most dynamic regions," said Vikas Khan, chairman and ceo of ESL, which has dual headquarters in Dubai (where it is registered) and Hong Kong.
