ER Schiffahrt cancels at Sekwang

Seoul: German shipowner ER Schiffahrt has cancelled four anchor handlers being built at Sekwang Heavy Industries. ER Schiffahrt said had cancelled a quartet of anchor handler tug supply vessels ordered at Sekwang "due to ongoing delays in completion and the resulting difficulties in securing charters". However, the company stressed that it continued to grow its offshore business. "We are intensifying our offshore fleet operations in Brazil, a region in which better and longer charter conditions can be arranged', said Albert Schumacher, ceo of ER Schiffahrt. [19/01/11]
