The new CSX service is being put in place to cater for increased trade between China and the ASEAN countries, as import/export trade grew 8.3% between China and ASEAN in 2014 to $480.4bn.
Four ships of between 2,000 teu and 2,700 teu will serve the trade, two from Cosco and one each from Evergreen and CSCL.
The first ship is scheduled to sail from Qingdao on 20 May on the port rotation Qingdao – Shanghai – Xiamen – Shekou – Pasir Gudang (Malaysia) – Singapore – Surabaya (Indonesia) – Singapore – Qingdao.
