Evergreen inaugurates new China headquarters

Evergreen inaugurates new China headquarters

Shanghai: Evergreen Group chairman Y F Chang presided over Saturday's grand opening of the new 35,000m2 Shanghai Evergreen Building (pictured) that brings all of the group's marine, aviation and logistics subsidiary companies together under one roof.

"In 1993 when Evergreen opened its first office in China and began implementing its long-term marketing strategies for this region, Shanghai was already this nation's economic and transportation center," Chang said.  "Evergreen has selected this city again and now, Shanghai is the headquarters for Evergreen operations in China.

"After 15 years of growth and success, Shanghai is now both the economic heart and transportation center for the entire Asia-Pacific region.  Evergreen will continue to support Shanghai in the future because we believe it will become the economic and transportation center for the world."

The group hopes that consolidation of all of its subsidiary operations will provide ready access to combined resources and internal communication channels and provide customers with greater convenience and higher quality services.  Chang added that the inauguration of the Shanghai Evergreen Building demonstrates that the Evergreen Group is establishing deep roots in the China market.  Further, it shows that the company is utilising the full circle of its marine, aviation and overland services to promote China's prosperous economic and business development across the Taiwan Strait and around the world.

The Evergreen Group started construction on its new building in 2005. The structure's exterior reflects the eye-catching light green, classically elegant exteriors of all the Evergreen buildings.  Topping out at 13 stories, the Shanghai Evergreen Building also has two floors below ground level. The Shanghai Evergreen Building is readily accessible from the Century Park, Shanghai Technology Museum and Shanghai Oriental Art Center. Evergreen Line, EVA Air and Evergreen Logistics have opened service counters in the lobby of the Shanghai Evergreen Building.  [14/10/08]
