Athens: Greek bulk carrier Filitsa has been freed by Somalian pirates following the payment of an undisclosed ransom by its owners. The crew of three Greeks and 19 Filipinos had been held hostage onboard the Marshall Islands-registered vessel since its capture off the coast of Seychelles in November. The crew are reported to be safe and on their way to Mombasa in Kenya for a check over before continuing on to Durban in South Africa. [02/02/10]
