Food and friendship celebrated at Singapore Nite

Food and friendship celebrated at Singapore Nite
Laksa, chilli crab, chicken rice and cheng tng were the stars at the culinary extravaganza called Singapore Nite, organised by the Singapore Maritime Foundation.

The summer night sun shone through the open French windows and a gentle breeze wafted in as the international shipping and maritime community gathered to enjoy authentic, delicious Singapore dishes prepared by Singapore chefs specially flown to Oslo.

Among the luminaries at Singapore Nite were Singapore’s Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew and shipping magnate John Frederiksen. Singaporeans based in Norway too got a chance to relish the spicy and longed-for taste of home. Altogether, some 400 people attended the event held at Oslo’s 115-year-old Continental Hotel.

And they will all remember it Singapore Nite as a night filled with hot food, warm friendships and cool summer breezes.
