GasLog returns to Samsung for two more new LNG carriers

GasLog has approached Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the construction of two more LNG carriers, after it exercised its option for two new charter agreements with Cheniere Energy.

The two 174,000 cu m LNG newbuilds will be chartered to Cheniere Energy for US LNG exports for a firm seven-year period.

In August this year, GasLog had already ordered two LNG carriers from the South Korean shipyard under similar charter arrangements.
