Moscow: Russian gas supplier Gazprom is considering ordering 20 new liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers in early 2008, reports Reuters. Andrei Fomichyov, head of St. Petersburg's North Shipyard company, told journalists that the company had shown interest in ordering tankers of between 80,000-100,000 tonnes for use in shipping the gas from its $15bn project in the Shtokman field to the US and Europe. The project, set up in conjunction with French partner 'Total', is expected to begin shipping LNG in 2014. [13/09/07]
