GE Shipping buys secondhand MR product tanker
Mumbai-based Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) has inked a deal to purchase a secondhand MR product tanker of 48,000 dwt.

The 2005 Japanese built tanker, to be renamed Jag Padma, is scheduled to join GE Shipping’s fleet by January 2016.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

At present, GE Shipping boosts a fleet strength of 30 vessels, comprising of 21 tankers and nine dry bulk carriers with an average age of 9.6 years aggregating 2.36m dwt.

The company’s orderbook comprises of three bulk carriers and one product tanker.
