Mumbai: The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (GE Shipping) has taken delivery of a 52,179dwt modern supramax dry bulk carrier that had been contracted in July this year. The 2001 built vessel, now named Jag Ratan boosts GE Shipping's fleet to 49 vessels aggregating 3.34 m dwt, with an average age of 11.2 years. These consist of 36 tankers (14 crude carriers, 20 product tankers, two LPG carriers) and 13 dry bulk carriers (one Capesize, two Panamax, one Supramax, six Handymax, three Handysize).
The company's new building order book stands at six vessels - four LR1 product tankers and two kamsarmax bulk carriers. [23/10/07]
