Giant repair base takes shape in Fujian

Shanghai: The ship repairing project of Fujian Quanzhou Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd will be completed next year, which could fill the gap that there are no large scale docks and ship repairing yard between Shanghai and Guangzhou, said Zhao Yunbao, executive vice president of the company. Currently over 1.9bn Yuan has been invested into this project.
Total investment of the ship repairing project of Quanzhou shipyard is more than 2.7bn yuan. The designed scale is to repair 250 ships annually, build 14 ships, also to repair and convert all kind of ships, offshore platforms and units.?"Both dock 1 and dock 2 are above 300,000 tons-class, which can repair the world's largest tanker, bulk carrier and boxship," Zhao said.
