Kuala Lumpur: Germanischer Lloyd celebrated a bumper anniversary in Malaysia this week, combining 20 years of its Malaysian-German oil and gas certification joint venture Germanischer Lloyd GLM with the 140th anniversary of Germanischer Lloyd (GL) in Hamburg.
The double anniversary was commemorated at a dinner with Tan Sri Abu Talib Othman, Co-Chairman of the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority (MTJA) as guest of honour and featured representatives from Malaysia's industrial, maritime, oil and gas industries.
GLM, which was established in 1987, provides services within the industrial and maritime sectors ranging from examination of drawings and calculations for boiler and pressure vessels to audits, risk analyses as well as surveys and inspections. The group's Kuala Lumpur office also serves as an 'Asset Integrity Management Development Centre' to supply clients with its GALIOM Software tool used worldwide for services to support plant operation.
GL plans a second lavish celebration for its 140-year anniversary in Singapore next week. [13/02/07]
