Shanghai: Brokers reports out this week suggest Greek owners are heading to Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries for a series of tanker orders.
George Economou's Cardiff Marine is in talks to order five tankers there for around $375m. ??The Greek company is negotiating a deal for two very large crude carriers costing $97m each, and three suezmax tankers at around $60m-$61m each. ?
Meanwhile, Thenamaris is also said to be looking at ordering suezmaxes at Rongsheng with reports suggesting the owner is keen to fix two firm plus two options there.
Rongsheng is the world's leading suezmax builder and is gearing up for a Hong Kong listing this year. [11/05/10]
