Singapore: Greenwave, the shipping environmental charity, will show off its revolutionary products at the inaugural Seatrade Sustainability Seminar this October 14, one of the highlights of the Lion Republic's Maritime Week.
The charity, founded in Greece and registered in the UK, has developed a plastic jacket drag kit that improves a vessel's aerodynamics and can easily be installed. Furthermore, the team has developed a set of rotors that operate like sails and can be retrofitted on ships at minimal expense and save at least 15% of fuel fees. Final testings of these products are taking place next month with a view to a launch in autumn.
Greenwave will display its designs at the Seatrade Sustainability Seminar on the morning of October 14 at the top floor of PSA Tower. Confirmed speakers include nclude Mohammad Souri, chairman & ceo, NITC; Andreas Sohmen-Pao, md of BW Shipping; Jesper Praestensgaard, Chief Executive for Maersk Line Asia-Pacific; Koay Peng Yen, group ceo, IMC Corp; and Arthur Bowring, managing director of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association.
