Guangzhou becomes third Chinese port to surpass 10m teu

Hong Kong: Guangzhou Port has crossed the 10m teu mark, becoming the third port after Shanghai and Shenzhen to achieve the milestone. The southern Chinese port is expected to cross 11m teu by year end, guaranteeing it a place in the global top ten. Guangzhou has been revitalized by the opening three years ago of Nansha deepwater port 54km to the south of the city centre.  [14/11/08]
