Guangzhou South China Oceangate Container Terminal opens

Shanghai: The container terminal joint venture between APM Terminals, COSCO Pacific and the Guangzhou Port Group has begun operations. The 500m jv, named Guangzhou South China Oceangate Container Terminal, is located at Nansha Phase 2 and boasts a 4.2m teu capacity. It has a total quay length of 2,100mtr across six container berths.  
The new terminal is expected to serve as a hub for South Chinese trade and should substantially boost container throughput at the port of Guangzhou above the 6.6m teu seen in 2006.  [05/10/07]
