Hamworthy opens new Middle East office

Sharjah: Marine equipment specialist Hamworthy opened a new Middle East office earlier this month in order to improve its service to the area. "Dubai, Fujairah and Qatar are strategic ports of call for many of our customers," said Roar Olsen, Hamworthy Middle East (HME) general manager, adding that the new office would "better serve customers such as Qatargas, which will have many LNG carriers delivered with Hamworthy equipment and systems over the next few years."
In addition to its regular service and service contract follow ups, Sharhjah-based HME will not only offer planned maintenance and discounted spare parts delivery but also carry out major maintenance work such as overhauling LPG cargo and reliquefaction compressors and re-tubing heat exchangers.
The new office will also offer a "plant condition assessment service ": a plant-specific surveillance and maintenance programme based on input from HME's engineering and service departments, equipment manufacturers and the ship's crew which is expected to maintain and increase the lifetime of onboard systems, as well as reduce turnaround time for any workshop services.
Hanworthy will promote HME at the upcoming Seatrade Middle East Maritime exhibition in Dubai on December 4-6 this year.  [31/10/06]
