Taipei: Hatsu Marine, the UK shipping arm of Taiwan's Evergreen Group, reports that the fourth and final of its S-type, 7,024teu vessels has entered service on the WAE route, a pendulum service linking the West Coast of North America, Asia and North Europe. Six sisterships remain outstanding from Mitsubishi HI for Evergreen. The S-type is characterised by a host of advanced environmental features: the Hatsu vessels are Lloyd's Register class and have EP (environment protection) notation, while the Evergreen ships will be classed with ABS and carry its equivalent ES (environment safety) notation.
